Do not buy this battery for the Dell Inspiron E1505. It is not compatible and will not work.
We had to return the battery for a refund.

This battery would not work in my Dell Inspiron E1505 Computer! No directions came with the product so I just plugged it in. I immediately received a message that my computer could not identify the battery and that since only genuine Dell Batteries could be used, my computer would not charge the battery. The message was somewhat correct as after eight hours the battery had not charged! I had to return the battery to Amazon and purchase a replacement direct from Dell at four times the cost! I certainly wish it had worked, and that if some instructions; that would have allowed me to work around the problem, had been included.

I recently purchased a replacement battery for my Dell laptop from Amazon. It came in a timely manner, replaced the old battery and worked like a charm.

This battery does what it should. It is adequate and charges just fine. Mine gives me about 3 hours. My only concern is that while the laptop is plugged up to the charger, my battery meter does not reflect that the battery is being charged. I get a msg saying “plugged in, not charging”.

My wife’s Dell Inspiron 1501 was having some battery issues that ended up causing issues where the battery was no longer recognized. She could only use the laptop when it was plugged in using the AC adapter which basically defeats the point of having a laptop. The motherboard eventually crashed (BIOS issues) and I replaced it hoping that the battery would then be recognized (after flashing the BIOS) but it wasn’t. I found this cheap replacement on Amazon and was a bit doubtful but it has worked great so far since installing it a week ago.
