A friend bought one for his buisiness. Automobile repair. I liked the size and performance of this unit. I have not been disappointed. It runs my amatuer radio software without missing a beat. Works great with my digital pictures files also.

The reviews of this laptop were very positive. I was looking for a smaller than traditional laptop for recording meeting minutes–something easy to carry around, but not a netbook–too small. When it arrived some keys were intermittent. I suspected the keyboard ribbon cable connection was loose. A Google search yielded a YouTube tutorial of how to change the keyboard. I didn’t want to open up a brand new computer, but the fellow said it was quick & easy, just a few clips to release around the board (but very small). Do this at your own risk. Most people would just want to ship it back, and try another. But it was just as he said. The connector was a bit tricky to reassemble, but in a few minutes the keyboard worked fine. I’ve had no other problems. The processor is pretty fast for word processing and spreadsheets. It’s not bad either for photo viewing. The LCD is very sharp and bright. I got a USB outboard DVD drive–no space in the machine, too thin. Battery life 6 hours, super. It think this laptop is a great value.

I chose this model based on multiple positive feedbacks and after arriving to the conclusion that Netbook concept of being reduced Notebook has been taken too far by Atom-based solutions and experience reduction simply isn’t worth the price.

This laptop, in my opinion, represents what Netbook intended to be in the first place – compact inexpensive Notebook for basic most common tasks: browsing internet, editing documents and watching video. And it does it exactly as expected not only spec-wise but mostly from user experience point of view.

Pros: although not as compact as 10″ Netbooks, it’s still almost twice smaller and lighter than regular 15″ Notebook. Running Home version of Windows 7 (not Starter as in Netbook), applications are fast and multiple windows is not a problem (unlike Netbook). The keyboard not only looks nice but also spacious and responsive enough for fast typing. 11.6″ monitor coupled with multi-touch zooming can be used for productive work (unlike Netbook). Video not only looks crisp but also has no lag (unlike Netbook). 1080i AVCHD from my camcorder runs smoothly in WMP and installing Haali splitter with AC3filter for MKV alone with HDMI-out makes HD experience complete while 3 USBs with 1 Multicard slot fully cover all your traveling needs.

Cons: my first experience with reflective display in the vehicle was terrible – you can not see a thing (although it’s a common issue of most modern machines trying to look good). Lack of Bluetooth may be a problem for people using wireless headphones, mouse and synchronizing cellular phones, but I prefer wire where distance is not an issue (or just get a dongle).

Despite display problem, I think this is a perfect travel companion for the price with nothing really to complain and almost no experience reduction (except certain obvious size limitations) comparing to regular Notebooks. It’s what Netbook supposed to be from the beginning.

had this computer for 3 months now. I had previous bad experience with the intel atom based computers, this processor is far faster. i upgraded it into 4gb ram. all the software works well and the multitasking is ok, you do not need another computer with it. the battery life is 5 hours. it is only con is the low sound

    My New Laptop
I am not a geek who lives his life for a new computer but I have a collection of computers that includes one Windows 98 Desktop, a Windows XP Desktop and Laptop. A Vista powered laptop and and a Desktop and now a Windows 7 Laptop and Desktop. It helps I maintain two residences. I bought the laptop from Amazon because of its price and thought it would be a good transition instrument from XP and Vista to Windows 7. It was!! The price was right and it enabled me to follow my transition to the new program in an orderly manner. It was several days before I discovered it did not have a drive for a DVD or CD and I would have to use a USB port to input data. This was an incomvenience but did not divert my satisfaction. I would recommend this product for a transition to Windows 7, a Traveling Laptop, and a regular all around computer.
