After a month this cable began to cause the screen to distort. Just get a longer vga cable.

I purchased this to use with my Xbox 360 and I had quite a bit of ghosting in texts. It also made a lot of areas blurry where they’re usually sharp.

using another cable brings instant relief… the better cable (AMC @ newegg) was even cheaper by a considerable margin.

My scenario is running a vga extension for LCD-TV display of PC output. The TV is brand new… displaying in 1900×1080… hooked up this Belkin and I nearly fainted, 3,4,5 ghost layers, colors that were so off that I thought I was back in the days of VHS tape. I didn’t suspect the cable first, I suspected sync rates, resolutions, the new TV, etc. Nope, finally after a few hours of making no progress towards improvement, I decide to switch out cables to the well considered AMC brand. Bang, no ghosts. Solid image. And what else? Color is now within normal (using skin tone as judgment).
Shielding? Maybe. This is in an audio studio. The AMC has much better cable housing and also has capacitor lumps on both ends.

When will I learn… “premium” and “gold” are buzz words to grab consumers and really means, as cheap as we could make it, plus we charge more. I should also know that nobody trying to do professional work has Belkin stuff around. I was in a hurry for a cable to make this hook up and too lazy to do a few more minutes of research. Don’t screw up like I did. Go look at the myriad good reviews of the AMC cable at NewEgg and count me as an additional happy person with that cable – this one from Belkin is junk.

i was disappointed that when i received this item it wasn’t what i ordered. also the item was missing one of the prongs on the inside of the cord. It was hard to contact the seller and the date for me to return it has past. i will never order from this seller again. i did appreciate the timelyness of receiving the item

This Belkin “Gold Series” cable is a big step up from the typical cable. Durably made connectors with gold ends gives great signal response. It also uses higher quality plastic/rubber for more flexibility.

As for the guy who says this is poorly shielded, I find it just the opposite. I bought this as a replacement for my OEM cable and it runs thru a rats nest of power cables in my office without the slightest interference.

      Highly recommended.
