Works exactly like it should. Seems like good quality and has good picture quality. Works great to hook up my laptop to my HDTV.
I’m using this cable to plug in a 19″ Samsung LCD TV and use as my monitor. It works great, and the picture is as clear as a bell. The cable jacks are sturdy and well-made, I see no reason why they shouldn’t last for years. For only three dollars, this cable is about as good as you can get!
Keep in mind that if you plan on using this cable to hook a computer to an LCD television, you’re more than likely going to need to lower the resolution in your computer first. When you hook a monitor up to your computer, your computer automatically detects the highest resolution possible and adjusts itself as you plug it in. With an LCD television, it can only initially understand a resolution that is no higher than it can possibly go. Most LCD’s can’t go over 720i or 720p, so before you plug it into your computer make sure you go into your “preferences” and adjust the resolution to as low as it can go, and make sure you set the “colors” option to “thousands” instead of “millions”. Your resolution will look awful once you do this, but don’t fret. Plug your monitor in, and when you see the image from your computer click on “auto display” or “display detector” or whatever you have that will automatically detect the highest resolution available with your computer. It will immediately update you screen image, giving you the best possible resolution available with your LCD TV.
I hope this helps anyone who may run into this problem as it seems that several of the bad reviews of this product hinge upon this sort of thing happening. It’s an easy fix, just be patient. It will only take five minutes!
What can I say. After looking at the price they get in the local stores I figured at this price I would give it a try. Wow so cheap yet not cheaply made. Saved me a bundle and works perfect.
The prices of cables in local stores is one of the biggest rip=offs that exist. They know you need the cable, so they are marked up 500%.
The cable I ordered was much better quality than expected or needed, it was shipped fast and the price gets an A+.
I’m easy to please, I want it good, fast and cheap!
Got it in the mail four days after placing the order and paying extra to have it expedited. Plugged it in to my laptop and a 47″ plasma TV, but the TV would not pick up the signal from the PC. So I went and plugged it into my 32″ lcd TV, and the text on the TV changed from “No Signal” to “Invalid Format.” Then I plugged my desktop pc into my lcd TV and the picture showed for a few seconds in with only red, full color about 10 seconds later, then it went to gray scale. Within a minute the picture disappeared and my TV said “Invalid Format.”
It hasn’t worked again, but because of all the 5-star reviews, I’m trying to get them to send me another one, but I’m not willing to pay shipping again after paying expedited shipping once already because they f—ed up.
